She got her Masters in 1996 and her Ph.D. in 1998 from University of Colorado in Applied Mathematics. She has worked at the US Naval Research Laboratory in Washington D.C. for seven months. She has been married for five years and plans on having a family when her career is more stable. Her professional work includes Newton's Method, mathematical modeling of the measles epidemic, and mathematical modeling of computer viruses.
